I am taking a week off from publishing for the first time since we started Revenue Rulebreaker in the fall of 2024. It's just one week. It feels more substantial for some reason. I rarely take time off.
I will be out from August 5 through 13. I'm traveling back to the US (Portland) for a wedding anniversary celebration of two of my favorite people and I'm also visiting family and other friends.
I'm back in the office on the 13th and we are hosting a book club that day on Maggie Patterson's book Staying Solo, but I won't publish anything new.
Here's what to expect
🏆 Legends
- New Ask The Legends advice questions will still get posted throughout this time. Check the site on Sundays or Thursdays to see what's new. Answer in the comments and I'll feature your answers in newsletters when I return.
- You can send shoutouts, classifieds or other asks through Legends Liaison. The earliest I will be able to plug stuff that isn't already in is August 18. I will get back to you when I'm back in office to confirm your dates.
- Use the directory and our new collab requests list to connect with other Legends while I'm gone.
- We're launching Five Star Fest on August 18 so start thinking about your podcast, newsletter, freebie, video, book or whatever else you want reviews on. One thing pretty please and it has to be free. Legends will compete for prizes by leaving reviews for each other and the prizes are phenomenal. More info on the 18th!
🎲 Rulebreaker
- Newsletters will still arrive on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. They'll be lighter than normal featuring some of our best stories you might have missed.
- I won't be commenting on small business headlines for the next two weeks, but catch up on the last few weeks here.
📓 Programs
- Sub Drivers is high priority for me as I know everyone is cranking full speed ahead on subscription goals and drives. I will be checking emails at night every couple weekdays to make sure I'm not blocking you. I will be without internet service over the weekend. I'll do my best to get back to you as soon as I can. Use our new Slack for peer support too.
It's hard to take this time. I'm struggling with it, especially after welcoming so many new Legends. I've worked over nearly every holiday and birthday for as long as I can remember. I'm trying to build more of these breaks in though. We kind of have to do them or I'm not gonna last that long.
I really appreciate your patience with me as I take this hiatus. As a solo operator, I just can't get that far ahead of the publishing schedule to produce enough new content to fill this much time. And I really wanted to go see the people I love.
