I don’t buy subscription fatigue.

I mean I do buy subscription fatigue. I just don’t think it’s affecting indie writers and creators as much as everyone says it is.

Every week, someone takes to the internet to complain about writers getting paid with individual subscriptions. 

“Why would I pay for one writer when I could pay for a hundred?”

The answer is simple Jim. Because you like that one writer.

Pay for the stuff you really want to exist. Don’t pay for the other stuff. Problem solved.

Did I mention the people complaining seem to always be writers themselves?!

I reject this take wholeheartedly because I am not seeing any evidence that reader-supported writers are having trouble finding readers who want to pay “just” them.

Plus, it’s useless to keep talking about how you don’t believe in this model unless you have a pitch for an alternate route, which actually…since you mention it, I do.

Bundled subscriptions. 

Individual subscriptions and bundled subscriptions. POR QUÉ NO LOS DOS! 

I have this crazy idea that I could build something that would let more writers do this.

Without a platform. Without an app. Without paying a third party.
