Buried Treasure

Josh Spector is ditching his free newsletter. Should you?

What it means for us that one of the biggest creators in online entrepreneurship is privatizing his emails

Josh's website explaining the change

Josh Spector announced last Sunday that he's getting rid of his free newsletter. Starting Saturday, you can only get his newsletter if you're a paid member.

It's a bold move and one that has email marketers asking...should more of us be doing that?

His newsletter has 30k+ readers. His audience is anyone working with clients, mostly small service providers. Josh has historically been sponsor-backed in addition to being member-backed. And he's been running his membership a long time (you might remember when I advertised it early 2025). He's built a shitload of trust over many years.

Still. It's unusual. How will he sell? Why cut people off? Who even pays for emails?
